Vucic: Electricity price among cheapest in Europe, neither EPS nor Telekom will be sold
President Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia's gross reserves amount to more than 18 billion and that "we have never been at that level."
"We said that the public debt must not exceed 60 percent. We are among the best countries when it comes to this result. As for Srbijagas, with all the complaints I have, the problem is gas prices. As far as EPS is concerned, the price of electricity you pay is among the cheapest in Europe. Everyone around Serbia has much higher prices of electricity. I could say all sorts of things about EPS (state power company), but these are important factors. The other day we caught some people who tried to destroy some equipment in order to shut down a power plant block," said Vucic.
He pointed out that a few years ago he thought Telekom should be sold, but now he thinks otherwise.
"We will not sell any of that, neither Telekom nor EPS. EPS will become a joint stock company. I guess our goal is for them to go public one day, but there are no conditions for that yet. NIS (oil company) is in a different situation. We need to have oil, for people to drive cars and have buses," added Vucic.
