Dacic predicts outcome of Serbia v Brazil for Telegraf: "I hope for next phase.. Then, it's all or nothing"
Tomorrow, the Serbian national team will play its first match at the World Cup in Qatar. The game against Brazil starts at 8:00 pm, and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic told Telegraf.rs in that he hopes that we will advance past the group stage.
He told our portal that he follows football, and that he is very happy that our footballers are optimistic, because some games are lost even before they start (due to bad mentality).
"Of course I follow football. I have big problems because I can't do it while abroad, considering that all the broadcasts on our channels are unavailable when you are abroad, but since the World Cup is now happening it will be on all channels everywhere in the world. I will certainly follow it, and, of course, most of all the matches we play," Minister Dacic told Telegraf.rs.
Asked what his prediction is regarding our national team, he noted that we have quality and points out that we also have a good head coach.
"I was in Russia last time (for the World Cup) and I watched Brazil v Serbia. Now as well we have an invitation from the Minister of Sports and I from the Minister of Foreign Affairs (of Qatar). We will see how it will work out and if I will be able to. But, in general, I hope for a good result. I hope that we will advance to the next stage... Well, then, it's all or nothing. I am happy that our footballers are optimistic, that they have the will and that they are aware of what they can do. Sometimes it seems to me that we lose some games even before they start," observed Dacic, and in response to our remark that this could be a good sign, he stressed:
"Absolutely. Sometimes it's not enough to have our inat, but also quality, and I think that now we really have quality and we have a good head coach."
