Aleksandar Djordjevic's first words after taking over Chinese national team as head coach

The famous Serbian basketball player and experienced coach Aleksandar Djordjevic has been officially appointed as the new coach of the Chinese national basketball team.

After the promotion, he addressed his fans on social networks and posted:

"It is a great honor to become a Head Coach of Chinese men's National Team! Big professional challenge accepted with The highest Enthusiasm that equals my personal humbleness and responsibility! A lot of work ahead to try to achieve the highest goals possible."

Djordjevic was without a coaching engagement since the end of the previous season, when he left the Turkish club Fenerbahce.

He was the coach of Serbia from 2013 to 2019, and during that time won three silver medals at the Olympic Games and the World and European championships.

He also coached Panathinaikos and Bayern Munich, as well as Virtus from Bologna, with whom he won the Italian championship and the Fiba Champions League.
