The Clinical Center in Kragujevac registers a case of scabies

Scabies have appeared at the University Clinical Center in Kragujevac, it has been confirmed for Telegraf.rs from that institution.

As statement delivered to us says that immediately after it was suspected that there was a possibility of infection, all prescribed measures were taken to prevent it from spreading.

"Health workers, during their work activities, are often exposed to various infectious and other diseases, because they are in constant close contact with patients. With the degrading of the health culture and hygiene of the population, diseases that we thought were eradicated are appearing once more, such as scabies," the statement said, adding:

"That infectious disease has lost greater epidemiological significance, so according to the current Law on the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases, it is no longer reported to the competent institutions, but the treatment of those affected is carried out, who, along with the therapy, are removed from work until the end of the treatment, and all social and other contacts are under obligation to take measures in order to prevent the further spread of the infestation," the Kragujevac clinic told Telegraf.rs.

They added that immediately after raising suspicions about the possibility of infection, all prescribed measures were taken to prevent it from spreading, as well as treatment procedures for those already infected.

Tanjug is reporting that the infection was brought to the Department of the Coronary Ward of the Internal Medicine Clinic by a patient. At the moment, several technicians are on sick leave, while the rest are working with preventive measures in place.
