Man who supplied Skaljari Clan with cocaine arrested in Frankfurt: He was quietly rising to the top
M.T. (47) from Bijeljina, who was arrested in Frankfurt, is suspected of supplying cocaine to the very top of the Skaljari Clan (a Montenegrin criminal group), as well as to groups around the world associated with that notorious clan, writes the daily Nezavisne.
Its sources added that M.T. was found in encrypted apps as a contact of Bojan Cvijetic and Jelenko Knezevic, who were arrested during Operation Transporter.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS (the Serb Republic, Republika Srpska) played a key role there, and thanks to their work M.T. 'fell'. He appeared in encrypted applications under the nickname Mr. Si. When the RS MUP began to process and investigate a man under that nickname, they discovered other organized criminal groups that worked with him and were procuring cocaine through him, including the very top of the Skaljari Clan," the portal's sources stressed.
They added that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of the RS spent a year shedding light on everything M.T. was accused of, that is, from the time Operation Transporter was carried out.
"The struggle to identify him lasted for months. When the Ministry of the Interior managed to determine who he was, its representatives held a meeting with those of Europol and police forces from about 15 countries. The representatives of the RS MUP then shared what they discovered about M.T., and the representatives of the other police forces were taken aback, since they knew absolutely nothing about him. They hadn't even heard of him, even though he is suspected of having climbed to the very top in terms of international drug production and trafficking," the sources stress.
In the meantime, M.T. was designated as one of the highest priorities of the RS MUP, a warrant was issued for his arrest and the moment was awaited when he would show up. He did, in Frankfurt, Germany, where he was arrested.
"The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), together with partner institutions, will undertake all the necessary activities in order to organize the extradition of the suspect to Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as possible, for his further criminal prosecution," the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina said yesterday.
