Ursula von der Leyen in Belgrade today: She's visiting works on Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnector

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic will today host President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen who is visiting the Western Balkans.
Vucic will meet the president of the European Commission at the Konstantin Veliki (Constantine the Great) airport in the town of Nis, and then together visit the works to build the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnector.
Afterwards, the two officials are scheduled to make statements, the president's press service announced.
A meeting between Vucic and Von der Leyen will be held later in the afternoon in Belgrade. The president of the EC started her Western Balkans tour with a visit to North Macedonia, from where she announced that the European Union has prepared a support package for the entire Western Balkans to help it deal with the energy crisis.
After Skopje, Von der Leyen was in Pristina yesterday, and then went to Tirana. She will leave Belgrade for Sarajevo today, and will end her tour of the region tomorrow in Podgorica.
