Narodni Front clinic reacts after 600 newborns receive saline solution instead of vaccine
The babies are not at risk, claims the newly appointed minister of health, Danica Grujicic.
As we have learned from GAK (OB-GYN) Narodni Front, 600 babies received saline solution instead of the BCG vaccine in that clinic due to technical, i.e., human error.
"Those responsible for this will be punished. Fortunately, no one is medically endangered, and all children will be vaccinated," said a source from the clinic.
The babies are not at risk, claims the newly appointed minister of health, Danica Grujicic.
According to what GAK Narodni Front has told Telegraf.rs, the babies who were discharged from this clinic from September 16 until October 10, 2020 did not receive the BCG vaccine.
Minister Danica Grujicic held an unscheduled press conference where she announced that 600 babies born in Narodni Front in Belgrade had received saline solution instead of the BCG vaccine.
She added that the children are not at risk.
BCG vaccination, which is mandatory in the first year of a child's life, will now be carried out for those babies at GAK Narodni Front according to a schedule (date and time) which parents will receive from the clinic's call center in the following days.
