Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on closure of embassy in Kiev: Decision made in March, reason revealed
Regarding the information published on Sunday that the Embassy of Serbia in Ukraine has been temporarily closed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Tanjug that this was a piece of news from the March of this year.
The staff of the Serbian embassy left Ukraine in March, when other diplomatic missions did the same.
On March 3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia announced that the Embassy of Serbia in Ukraine, for the sake of protecting the safety of Serbian personnel, was temporarily closing and that three diplomats and one employee had left Ukraine.
At the time, the ministry stated that the staff of this diplomatic-consular office will continue to do their work from Belgrade until their are conditions for them to return.
As Tanjug was told in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nothing has changed since then.
