Exclusive: Djokovic stopped on the street by a special magazine vendor, his gesture is admirable
Novak Djokovic is a man with a big heart! Our crew was able to see for itself, when we happened to notice him on the street in Belgrade.
We were on our way to another location, and came across Novak Djokovic, who returned to his hometown after his triumph in Astana.
Although he is a world star, Djokovic behaves like an ordinary man in Serbia, ready to talk to everyone, as was the case now, when he was approached by an elderly lady who sells the magazine "LICEULICE."
This magazine is sold by people who are on the margins of society, who are on the verge of poverty or suffer from certain diseases.
If you've taken a walk in Belgrade, it's impossible that you haven't come across them at some point, and unfortunately, often many people just pass by in a hurry. Not Novak Djokovic, who showed with this act that he is not only a great champion, but also an even bigger and better man!
Djokovic stopped and spoke with the lady for at least five minutes, and in the end he bought the magazine, in this way helping her as well as the organization that tries to assist vulnerable persons, whom few people notice, in social and economic inclusion.
Through the sale of magazines, they take the first step in overcoming poverty, homelessness and social exclusion.
There is no doubt that this gesture by Novak made this lady's day, and maybe in the future, it will make many people - when one of the vendors of this magazine approaches them on the street - not quicken their pace and look away.
