Tornado-like storm roared through the Jovancic family yard, sweeping away even concrete pillars

An apocalyptic storm that hit the municipality of Ljig yesterday afternoon destroyed everything in its path. The household of Ljubisav Jovancic bore the brunt, suffering great material damage. Farming facilities as well as agricultural machinery were completely destroyed.

The roof of the family home was also damaged, as was the rest of yard that came under a tornado-like storm.

"We can't recall a similar kind of force hitting our village. Reinforced concrete pillars were pulled out of the ground, 4-by3 meter panels that made up workshop walls are nowhere to be seen, kilometers around the household. A path was literally 'cleared" in a nearby forest after the storm passed through it. Trees got uprooted. We managed to keep alive," the owner of this household told RINA.

This is a family of farmers who, with the help of neighbors, managed to save about 2,000 bales of hay.

"Tiles were flying from the buildings, yesterday we experienced a true apocalypse," residents of Liplje near Ljig said.

They added that fortunately nobody died, while the material damage done to several households in this municipality will be assessed in the coming days.
