US company Rivian to open research and development center in Belgrade, create 200 engineering jobs

One of the most progressive and innovative companies in the world, Rivian, announced today that it is opening a development center in Belgrade, writes Netokracija, and this has been confirmed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

Rivian, a manufacturer of electric adventure vehicles (trucks and SUVs), officially announced today that it is opening its R&D center in Belgrade and intends to hire local automotive industry technical staff and engineers.

The jobs will cover advanced technologies related to the automotive industry, such as mapping, infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems and IT services.

The company will operate in Serbia under the name Rivian SE Europe d.o.o. Beograd, and a search of the Serbian Business Registers Agency (APR) reveals that this legal entity was established at the end of July 2022.

Rivian designs and manufactures electric adventure vehicles - for consumer and commercial markets. The first models were the one for the consumer market - R1T, a pick-up truck with two rows of seats for five passengers, which was declared the best vehicle in its category, and R1S, an SUV with three rows of seats for a total of seven passengers.

Literally overnight, Rivian at one point became the fifth largest car company in the world.

The startup that was launched by RJ Scaringe back in 2009, and at the beginning of November it completed the long-awaited IPO.
