Vucic from New York on all current topics: "We've shown the state is capable of preventing conflicts"

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is in New York, where he will stay until September 23 and participate in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Referring to EuroPride, he told TV Pink that Serbia was attacked by irresponsible groups from all sides.

"We were exposed, as we are today, to the attack of irresponsible groups from all sides. Persons who attacked police officers will be held accountable, as well as those who violated public order by taking off their underpants. The country found itself in a situation where, whatever decision you make, 80 percent of people will support you, but won't say so. Two hours were reduced to 10 minutes, the time it took the police to escort them to Tasmajdan. So, there was no walk. They say, Hill persuaded me?! What did he persuade me to do? To have the police escort them through a park? Decency and the presidency do not allow me to call them miserable liars, but there are those on the political stage."

As Vucic stressed he and Hill spoke a lot about Kosovo, but also about all current topics.

"Only when we were finishing the conversation, Hill told me that he had not yet decided whether he would go to the rally in front of the Constitutional Court. And that's all we spoke about on that topic. No ambassador can order me anything. Not because I'm strong and they're weak, and I respect them all, but you have to uphold the state's position."

Vucic added that some people do not understand that some ambassadors cannot do anything to statesmen. According to him, the essence is to maintain the firm position of the state.

"We provided security. Apart from the policemen, there were no injuries. Police officers are our children, brothers and fathers and no one has the right to attack them, that's why they will be held accountable. In the political sense, it's now clear to everyone that we have to fight for the cult of a decent Serbia."

"With a hybrid war, they are trying to destroy our decency and create chaos. This is what foreign services and irresponsible politicians in Serbia are doing to us.

"I am satisfied because we preserved safety. The state has demonstrated its ability to prevent conflicts."
