3-year-old Pavle from the village of Zdravinje near Krusevac, the news of whose difficult and painful fate has shaken Serbia, has finally been given hope of a new beginning.

This boy, who cannot speak due to a cleft lip and palate and only eats soft food has been admitted to the Children's Clinic in Tirsova Street in Belgrade today, and the path ahead is not easy, but promises to end well.

"Dr. Branislav Trifunovic warmly welcomed us and provided his maximum support for this case. He scheduled Pavle's surgery for September 26. The doctor is optimistic. It won't be easy at first. Pavle will undergo at least 10 surgeries, but the doctor is convinced that even after the first procedure, this little boy will be able to speak and eat normally," Krusevac-based humanitarian Danica Dimitrijevic from the association "Mi pomazemo, prikljucite se i vi" ("We are helping, join in") told Telegraf.rs.

Apart from the fact that this little boy has serious health problems, he lives with his two sisters, brother and parents in very difficult conditions, in a dilapidated house, the very sight of which causes great sadness. It even seems that the house will not survive the winter.

The cleft palate problem in children is usually solved by surgery performed by the time they are four or five months old, which was not the case with Pavle. He also has conjunctivitis, which damages his vision, and lately he has had difficulty breathing.

We wish him the best of luck as he starts his battle and to, when it's won, celebrate together.
