Government changes its decree: New maximum retail price of milk has been set to avoid shortages
The Government of Serbia today amended the regulation on limiting the price of basic foodstuffs by setting a new maximum retail price of milk.
2.8 percent fat UHT milk will cost 128.99 dinars per liter, starting today.
The maximum trading margin for all types of UHT milk is also changing and is being reduced from 12 to five percent.
In addition, Government of Serbia banned export of fresh milk and certain dairy products until September 30. Farmers indicated in the past days that due to the increased costs of raw milk production, the increase in the price of animal feed and the drought that hit our country, the production of raw milk and the sale to dairies of raw milk had decreased.
Thus, milk shortage has been noticeable in many retail chains in the country.
This government's decision should prevent shortages and regulate market supply.
