Serbia spent €2.5 million on imported electricity yesterday: These are 2 measures that could apply to citizens

Yesterday, Serbia imported 4 gigawatts of electricity worth 2.4 million euros.

More precisely, a little more than 4 gigawatts of electricity was imported, which cost 2.4 million euros.

"That means 530 euros per megawatt-hour, and we sell it on our market for 41 euros, that's 14 times less. Nobody could withstand that - and it's still summer," said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

According to him, it is a difficult summer, it will be an even more difficult fall, and the winter will be the hardest. That is why the state is preparing austerity measures.

"The state will soon come out with measures related to households and companies, which concern reduction of electricity consumption," he specified.

One of the measures could be giving a huge discount to those consuming less electricity, it was announced earlier.

Namely, citizens who use less electricity compared to the same month of the previous year will receive a big discount on the price.

The second measure refers to the recommendations made by the Ministry of Mining and Energy, concerning proposals for the state administration, local self-government units, state-owned enterprises, the economy and households to reduce the consumption of electricity and heating.

Citizens are now faced with a new challenge and question - how to save electricity at home?

This is possible with good insulation, rational use of household appliances, but also many other tricks.
