4 arrested for raping11-year-old in Pristina, 3 of them are minors: Search launched for the fifth
The Kosovo police detained a total of four people suspected of raping a minor in Pristina, while a fifth has been identified and is being looked for, reports Gazeta Express.
"The suspects in the rape of a minor are Ekrem Rexhepi (26), while his brother and the other two detained persons are minors. The fifth person's house was searched and he was not found, and we are looking for him," the police announced.
According to reports, Rexhepi was previously known to the police for similar as well as for other criminal acts, and he defended himself by remaining silent during the detention hearing.
On Monday, the court detained the brothers for one month.
The case of the rape of her 11-year-old daughter was reported to the police by the mother, who during her statement to the police described the horror that the child experienced, writes Bota Sot.
Signal's sources from the prosecutor's office said that the adult suspect who was arrested by the police on suspicion of being involved in this case is Ekrem Rexhepi, 26, while the other suspect who was arrested is his minor brother G.R, 16, reports Kosovo Online.
The case was discovered after the girl's mother, together with her daughter, reported to the police the horror that the child was experiencing for several hours.
Based on the testimony of the victim's mother, the girl left the house on Saturday night.
She was shocked when the girl was found after midnight in a bad emotional state and confessed what happened to her. In front of investigators and social welfare workers, the 11-year-old revealed that she was raped by five people, in several different locations, while more details are not yet known.
Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Laureta Ulaj presented the details of the case.
"On the order of the guardian prosecutor from the Department for Juveniles, two suspects were detained, one adult and the other minor, on suspicion of having committed the crime of 'rape'. The state prosecutor has submitted a request to the competent court to determine the measure of custody," Ulaj said.
She added that all actions have been taken, but that she cannot provide details for now.
"For the case in question, all necessary investigative actions are undertaken in coordination with all competent institutions, so considering that we are guided by the procedure for minors, we cannot provide other information, in order to preserve the integrity of minors in the procedure," added the spokeswoman of the prosecutor's office.
