Partizan v. Hamrun could be played behind closed doors: UEFA to punish the club because of fan chants?
During the day, the UEFA Disciplinary Commission will make a final decision regarding the report of the special observer and delegate present during the football match between Partizan and AEK, which arrived at the end of last week, based on which the punishment will be meted out to the Belgrade club.
As things currently stand, it is not being ruled out that Partizan will be sanctioned by being forced to play their next game in the Conference League against Hamrun from Malta on Thursday behind closed doors.
The club has received a report from officials, according to which Partizan, i.e., its supporters ("Grobari") are accused on two counts - racism, as a result of a chant directed at former Red Star player Nenad Tomovic, and violation of human rights and homophobia heard in the chants directed against the Serbian president, which, in truth, could not be heard during the TV broadcasts, but UEFA officials "registered" that as well.
For this reason, the club has not yet disclosed information about the sale of tickets for the playoff match against Harmun, awaiting the final decision from UEFA during the day, based on which further steps will be determined.
