Zorana Mihajlovic: "We need government with authority and PM-designate from Serbian Progressive Party"

Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said today that it is important that PM-designate should come from the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), given that this party has won the most votes in the election.

She added that the future government faces a large number of challenges which it will have to overcome in order to continue to ensure energy and financial stability.

"We didn't have any specific discussions about portfolios or names, except that President Aleksandar Vucic said who the candidates for PM-designate are, and I think we will know more details in the next ten days. I have been in energy for more than 30 years, it is my profession, I have enough experience and knowledge in this field, but we will see if I am needed in that department or not," she told Euronews.

Mihajlovic assessed that the government will be exposed to political pressure and added that because of this she advocates for a strong and authoritative cabinet that will provide security to all citizens.

"We have to find a balance and take care of the stability and security of the state, and at the same time protect those who will not be able to manage," Mihajlovic said, according to a statement released by her ministry.
