Ministry of Agriculture calls for talks with farmers: "We are ready to go to any place"

The Ministry of Agriculture has invited farmer associations to talks in order to solve the current problems.

"We invite representatives of associations from Pozarevac, Pancevo and Srbobran to talk with the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture about all the topics presented. The employees of the Ministry, as before, will always be available to all farmers, ready to go to any place that the farmers suggest, in order to continue to solve problems in agriculture together. We believe that this is the only way to overcome the challenges we are all facing," said the ministry.

Previously, farmers announced that they will block the bridge over the Velika Morava River and a highway connecting Pozarevac with the E-75 highway.

About 200 tractors and other agricultural machines from Stig are participating in the blockade. They plan to block the bridge and the highway for two and a half to three hours.

The farmers are asking the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia to make the price of sunflower seeds around 90 instead of 60 dinars per kilogram.
