Brnabic on political rehabilitation of Nikola Kalablic: "Procedure is still in progress"
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic did not comment today on the court decision to politically rehabilitate WW2-era commander of the Yugoslav Army's Mountain Guard in the Homeland, Nikola Kalablic, stating that, given that the decision is not yet final, her comment could be interpreted as putting pressure on the judiciary, reports Tanjug.
"I have limited space to comment on that decision, because the court process is still ongoing, and that is not the final decision. Whatever I say can be interpreted as pressure from the executive branch on the judicial branch, even if the executive branch is in the technical mandate," Brnabic said in response to journalists.
The procedure is ongoing and I have no right to comment on it, she added.
The Higher Court in Valjevo last month once again approved the request for Kalablic's rehabilitation.
This decision can be appealed before the Appellate Court within 30 days, starting from Friday, August 5, when the verdict was delivered to the prosecution and the petitioner.
