Aleksandar Vucic tours final works on Belgrade Waterfront's Belgrade Tower
President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic was visiting the final works on the Belgrade Tower today.
At the very beginning of the tour, the president stressed that such a view can hardly be offered anywhere in Europe and added that he thinks that all citizens are satisfied and happy today.
"We can also see how many citizens are buying apartments here, as well as that the restaurants in the area are full," said Vucic.
Vucic said that people always know how to recognize success.
"There are always many obstacles on the way to success that you have to overcome, people see success, they see how beautiful it is for them and how much our city has changed and become a metropolis in every sense of the word," stressed the president.
Speaking about plans for the future, Vucic said that critical moments await us.
"Today is three days until the end of July, the seventh month of the year. There are five months left until the end of the year, those are critical months, the next eight months are critical for the whole of Europe. August is critical because we have problems with water supply, because of the drought. They cannot bring coal to us because the water level on the Danube is 1.7 to 1.8 meters. It causes problems in the production of electricity, water supply, everything. We would not be importing electricity today if we had normal hydrological situation," he said.
"Everyone uses air conditioning, of course, it's an accepted standard of living. Just like Belgrade-Novi Sad, no one takes the old road anymore. We're going to have to work on some new things, so we're going to have to have lower coal production, therefore we're using trains in every way. We are preparing in every way, and gas is being injected from our storage in Hungary today. We still have 7 million cubic meters left to make sure the storage is 100 percent full," Vucic added.
"We continue to fill our leased capacities in Hungary, the state has taken the biggest burden onto itself. With this, I want to show citizens how much we are fighting as a country, the word security is of key importance for the coming period."
The construction of the Belgrade Tower, the tallest hotel and residential building in Belgrade Waterfront and in Serbia, should be completed this year.
The Belgrade Tower has about 40 floors, is over 160 meters tall, with a view of the Sava River, its bridges, including the Ada Bridge.
