Post mortem examination reveals cause of death of "Barber of Malca," the worst pedophile in Serbia

The autopsy of Ninoslav Jovanovic, known as "the Barber of Malca," has been completed, Telegraf has learned.

According to information we received, he suffered heart failure.

"No injuries were observed on the body. It was a natural death. The coroner determined that his heart failed. The body was immediately handed over to the family," said our source.

He was taken ill in the prison in Pozarevac on July 8, and died a few hours later in the hospital.

Ninoslav Jovanovic was sentenced to life in prison on August 5, 2021, for kidnapping and prolonged criminal act of rape, the victim of which was a 12-year-old girl.

The verdict said that on December 20, 2019, while able to understand the significance of his behavior and decide on his actions, he abducted a minor girl from Suvi Dol in the Brzi Brod neighborhood in Nis, using deception and threats. Jovanovic's intent was to rape the victim, who he caught up with on a road in his car, stopping and inviting her to get inside. When she told him that she was afraid to, he introduced himself as Bojan from Nis and said he worked as an electrician at the victim's school.

He asked her to show him where the school was, in that way deceiving her into entering the vehicle. When the victim started to explain how to get to the school, he told her that he would show her a shortcut. When they moved on, he told her that she had been kidnapped, that her father had stolen a diamond from an elderly woman from Niska Banja and that she had to stay with him until her father returned the diamond. Then he threatened her and took her to a place called Malcanska Petlja, where he drove off the main road and stopped the vehicle.

The girl tried to run away but Jovanovic caught up with her, hit her on the head and cut off a lock of her hair, then dragged her to a hut and raped her. Until December 29 when she was found, the girl was hungry, tired, exhausted and crying, but he was telling her that she must continue, that she must not stop, that she must walk on.

She was crying and begging him to let her go back home, because she was afraid, but he was hitting her in the head and stomach and threatening to kill her parents, which scared the victim because she believed that this could happen. When they would come across people, in order to prevent her from asking for help, he told her that they were evil, that they could kill them, that she had to run. She was afraid of the dark, of the sounds she heard, and Jovanovic further terrified her by cutting off her hair and body hair, and telling her that he was going to kill her parents.

On December 29, he eventually fled from an abandoned house in Oresac where he had taken the girl, and that is when the she was found.

Jovanovic was arrested on January 5, 2020 in the cemetery in the village of Malca.

Jovanovic had previous rape convictions and became notorious for cutting off his victims' hair.
