In December 2017, the Terra museum, a unique cultural institution in Serbia, was opened in the building of a former military barracks in Kikinda.

At any time, visitors can see around 1,000 terracotta sculptures, while the annex part of the building contains a smaller gallery space intended for occasional exhibitions.

The town, known as the largest wintering place for barn owls, became more than four decades ago the address for the world's best artists who come to Kikinda, create terracotta artifacts and leave them as a gift to the host town.

The world attraction in Kikinda is the skeleton of the mammoth Kika, which is believed to be half a million years old.
