It's revealed by how much electricity price will go up in Serbia: Minister says the decree is ready
Minister of Mining and Energy and Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic said today that the price of electricity must rise, and that this is the position of the ministry she heads, as well as of the Fiscal Council.
"There is no discussion or finding agreement on on the amount of the price increase, the Ministry considers it necessary. We have prepared a decree for energy-vulnerable customers, to provide for those households that cannot pay for electricity. As much as we would like not to affect inflation by maintaining electricity prices, we are in that way directly collapsing the EPS (Serbia's electrical power corporation)," said the minister, reports Tanjug.
The price of electricity will have to increase, says the minister and adds that this is the opinion of the Fiscal Council, adding that their assessment is that the hike must be between 15 to 20 percent.
