President of the Belgrade City Assembly, Nikola Nikodijevic, invited all citizens to attend a gathering to welcome home the best Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, who just won the Wimbledon tournament. The venue is in front of the Old Palace (Stari Dvor) and this Belgrade city official invited everyone tocome and throw a spectacular party for our Novak.

The musical part of the event starts at 8 pm with DJ performances, and then Sasa Kovacevic will take the stage. After that, the official part of the evening will begin with the sounding of the national anthem, the arrival of Novak on the balcony of the Old Palace and his address, followed by Dejan Petrovic's trumpet band.

"There will be a good party in Belgrade tonight," Nikodijevic told Tanjug.

"Novak Djokovic, who is the hero of the entire nation, will be with us tonight. This is not the first welcome we will give Novak, but we are equally fond of each one and equally look forward to his new successes. I believe that a large number of people will turn out tonight," Nikodijevic said.

He recalled that Serbian athletes winning medals and trophies are traditionally welcomed in front of the Old Palace and added that a rich musical program will be arranged for Novak tonight before he goes out on the balcony.

And, Nikodijevic revealed, some more surprises are being prepared.

"In any case, we expect a spectacle. Novak certainly deserves such a welcome. What Novak did yesterday at Wimbledon and what he has been doing for years is unreal, we have the privilege of living in Novak Djokovic's era," said Nikodijevic and called on all citizens to "throw a spectacular party for our Novak" tonight.
