This is the ball Ivan held onto as he was pulled out to the open sea: His friend has been missing for 40 hours
Two young men from North Macedonia, who disappeared in the sea in Halkidiki, Greece, have been found, while the search for a friend of theirs continues.
The search for the 28-year-old, who was vacationing in Poseidi with his friends, resumed this morning. Greek media report that his mother and brother are arriving in Greece today from the US.
The third man has been lost at sea for more than 40 hours, which is why hopes of finding him alive are fading.
Greek media say that poor weather conditions and strong wind in the area are hampering the search efforts.
Also, it is reported that he is not a good swimmer, which is why his situation is considered very difficult.
At the same time, rescuers are expected to launch an underwater drone today to reach the bottom of the sea and help in the search.
The Coast Guard managed to locate and rescue two young men in previous days, while the operation to locate the third person continues for a third day.
Vasil (25) was the first to be rescued. He was picked up by a Coast Guard vessel after being spotted in the sea by a surfer.
30-year-old Ivan was saved thanks to a ball he accidentally found in the sea. He held onto the ball for 19 hours, keeping himself alive in this way.
