Kurti: "Maybe someone in Brussels got scared after Vucic said he'd withdraw from the dialogue"

The prime minister of Pristina's provisional institutions, Albin Kurti, said today that "someone in Brussels might have gotten scared," referring to the reaction of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic regarding the continuation of the dialogue after Pristina's latest decisions.

"The problem may be in Belgrade's warnings that it will withdraw from the dialogue process. They are wrong, but this may have scared someone a little in Brussel," Kurti assessed, Pristina media reported.

Kurti, commenting on the statement of the EU special envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, that the new situation in relations between Belgrade and Pristina changed the plans of his visit, said that Lajcak was informed about the actions of Pristina, reports Klan Kosova.

The prime minister of the provisional Pristina institutions also claims that a meeting at the level of the main negotiators is expected in July, adds Koha Ditore.

Kurti said that Pristina is interested in legally binding agreements, with a focus on what he claims is mutual recognition.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday, after his meeting with Lajcak, stressed that there is nothing to be gained from the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and that there is nothing that could be discussed after Pristina's latest decisions.

"That's no good, nevermind that dialogue, it's all empty talk. What dialogue, after such decisions, dialogue about what, about the Community of Serb Municipalities, while they are not allowed to stick a banner. About what?," asked Vucic.
