Former Red Star footballer kills ex-partner in front of her son? "He was quiet, we don't know what happened"
Branka P. (47) from Herceg Novi was murdered yesterday just before six o'clock in Bokeske Brigade Street in that town.
The deadly shots were allegedly fired by her former partner B.R. (47), who Montenegrin media say is a former Red Star footballer, Bojan Rasovic.
The suspect was taken to the prosecutor's office last night at around 8 pm and chose not to make any statements. He has been detained, a spokesperson of that prosecutor's office, Lepa Medenica, confirmed for the daily Dan.
After shooting his ex-partner, R.B. turned himself in to the police in a visibly poor mental state.
According to unofficial information, the suspect had serious health issues for a long time. He and the victim did not have any children together and have not lived together for years.
Branka P. was killed in her apartment, and Dan writes that her 20-year-old son was the eyewitness to the crime. He was in a state of shock when the police arrived and was immediately provided professional care.
Neighbors from the building where the crime took place, who wished to remain anonymous, said that there was nothing to indicate a tragedy was coming. They say that they did not hear the shooting and found out about the horrible event only after the police had arrived.
Crimes of this kind, they say, rarely happen in Herceg Novi. They remember Bojan as a quiet, well-meaning and calm man and don't know what could have caused him to react like this, especially since he did not visit Branka for years, nor were they seeing each other.
The motive for this murder is unknown at this time.
