Kosovo and Metohija Office Director Petkovic: EP's Von Cramon has gone too far
The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, assessed today that European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo Viola von Cramon went too far when she said that Serbia cannot join the EU until it recognizes so-called Kosovo.
"When Viola von Cramon says that Serbia cannot join the EU until it recognizes so-called Kosovo, does she mean the EU whose members are Spain, Romania, Slovakia, Cyprus and Greece," Petkovic wrote on Twitter, referring to the five EU member states that have not recognized Kosovo.
He also wondered where the lobbyists of so-called Kosovo get the idea that von Cramon could determine Serbia's path to the EU.
"Von Cramon has gone too far," stressed Petkovic.
MEP Viola von Cramon previously told a Belgrade media outlet that Serbia, if it wants to join the EU, must impose sanctions against Russia and recognize Kosovo.
She added that obligations also exist for the Pristina side, citing implementation of the court decision regarding the Decani monastery and preparation of a draft plan to establish the Community of Serb Municipalities.
