Pristina should consider participation in Open Balkan initiative
The US Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo and Metohija has said that there is no alternative to economic cooperation and called on the provisional institutions in Pristina to seriously consider participating in regional initiatives aimed at creating a common market, such as Open Balkan.
The US Chamber of Commerce is convinced that economic cooperation has no alternative "in these uncertain times" and that only "economic integration of countries will lead to overcoming difficulties, such as supply chain challenges, food, energy and labor shortages."
According to a statement, every initiative for regional cooperation should enable equal representation of everyone in the Western Balkan, while it is the responsibility of the three initiators of Open Balkan to address the skepticism of Pristina and others towards the initiative.
The US Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo and Metohija also stated hat it is of the utmost importance that all countries of the Western Balkans align themselves with the policy of the US and the European Union, maintaining a harmonized position condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine through sanctions.
