President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that he does not deny the importance of general acts adopted by the European Parliament, but that mutual recognition mentioned in the report on Serbia, published by the Foreign Policy Committee of the European Parliament, is "their wish."

Asked by journalists how he sees the fact that the report mentions mutual recognition in the context of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina for the first time and whether he thinks that in the context of the Ukrainian crisis that dialogue will be accelerated in some way, Vucic said:

"It's some strange policy, some people there do not respect their own negotiating framework adopted by the European Commission and confirmed by the European Council."

Vucic recalled that the negotiating framework talks about comprehensive normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, i.e. Kosovo and Serbia.

"Mutual recognition is their wish, it is nice that they want that. We don't want that. Everyone has their job - we have our own, they have theirs. They are very important, we are not, but we can have our own opinion. That's it, we can," said Vucic.

He said that he is ready to accept all the blows because he knows that justice, ethics and truth are on the side of Serbia.

However, he said that he could not deny the importance of general acts adopted by the European Parliament, because they are not facetious, nor to be taken as frivolous.

"But, our decision happens to be like this, and I believe that the Parliament of Serbia and the Government of Serbia, which should decide on that issue, will soon confirm everything I just told you," Vucic added.
