Abazovic arriving in Belgrade on June 29: Resetting of relations with Montenegro
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today in Ohrid that Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has sent an invitation to the prime minister of Montenegro to visit Belgrade with a delegation by the end of the month.
Vucic said that he was satisfied with the meetings he had with the leaders of North Macedonia and Albania within the Open Balkan initiative, but also with Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic and the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija.
"I learned that Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has sent an invitation to the prime minister of Montenegro to visit Belgrade with a delegation by the end of the month, I think that such an invitation will also go to the Council of Ministers in BiH. When we are together, then we are much, much stronger," said Vucic.
He added that the news was that they were in a meeting with the Atlantic Council and that the idea was launched to create working groups that could analyze the situation in the whole region and how to help each other.
"To cooperate more closely and prepare a big fair of wine, food and tourism in Belgrade, and before that to see each other somewhere in the south of Serbia and see how to help the citizens of the Open Balkan. Serbia has the most food, flour, cooking oil, sugar, we have all that. It's important that we form working groups," Vucic told reporters in Ohrid.
Abazovic announces Serbia visit on June 29
Abazovic, who is attending the Open Balkan Summit in Ohrid, wrote on Twitter that Montenegro and Serbia want to reset their relations.
"President Aleksandar Vucic and I agreed that the two countries are turned towards each other and that together they should create a European future based on reconciliation and cooperation," Abazovic wrote.
President Vucic previously told reporters in Ohrid that Prime Minister Ana Brnabic had invited Abazovic to visit Serbia by the end of June.
This will be Abazovic's first official visit since taking office as prime minister of Montenegro.
