Croat wounded in Ukraine conflict: He is suspected of having been an Azov member, to be transferred to Croatia

According to Jutarnji List, a Croatian citizen who fought in Ukraine was recently wounded and is expected to return to Croatia.

As confirmed for Jutarnji List by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, he was transported to a safe place from where he will be provided with transportation and continue his journey to Croatia, where he will continue his treatment in one of Zagreb's hospitals.

"We confirm information about a Croatian citizen injured in Ukraine, who was transported to safety by the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the Ukrainian authorities, from where he will be provided with transport and continue to Croatia where he will continue with medical treatment."

The Croatian citizen allegedly fought as a volunteer on the Ukrainian side and has a signed contract with Ukraine. Most of Croatian volunteers are part of the "Azov battalion."
