"At first I heard their sound. They were noisy. Suddenly, I felt a strong blow to the head. I didn't know what it was, I turned to see what happened and saw crows landing on me. They took turns pecking at me, one, then the second, then the third... They were persistent, they didn't stop, it was like a horror movie."

This is how Tamara Kranjcevic from Novi Sad begins her testimony for Telegraf.rs. She had to leave work early yesterday due to stress and head injuries. Angry crows attacked her while she was on her way to work, around six in the morning, in Antuna Urbana Street, so she shared this terrible experience on Facebook to warn people of the danger.

"Everything hurts. I have six scabs on my head from them pecking and hitting me. The stress I experienced is terrible, I can't get over it. When I close my eyes, all I see is them landing on me. I don't even know how I will be able to sleep tonight," Tamara tells us.

She doesn't know how it all would have ended if a man hadn't come by as that horror was unfolding.

"He clapped, waved his hands, and somehow managed to drive them away. He asked me, 'are you okay', and I, in shock, could not even answer. I just walked on, still unaware of what had happened to me. After an hour and a half, I got a headache and started crying from the terrible stress I experienced," Tamara recalls, and thanks the stranger for his help.

When she regained her composure, she called the communal police, but they told her they deal with pets, not wild animals. Tamara is most worried about her child, as well as other children in that area.

"A woman who read my post on Facebook called me and said that she used to live in a building next to mine. Believe it or not, crows were attacking her for three years and in the end she had to move because of them," Tamara reveals to us.

Recently, crows in Belgrade, in Zvezdara also attacked somebody - Jelena Radivojevic, an expert advisor with the Sports Association, who managed to drive away the bird and remained unharmed.

Crows usually attack to protect their young. It happens that chicks fall out of the nest, so the mother views every passer-by as potential threat.

The smartest thing to do if you see an angry bird is to change the direction in which you are moving and thus avoid its aggression.
