Vucic with the new leader of the UAE: Serbian president says he's proud of sincere friendship
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic who arrived in the United Arab Emirates today, expressed his condolences to the new UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan over the death of his predecessor, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Vucic, who is in Abu Dhabi together with other world leaders, also congratulated the new president of the UAE on his appointment to that position.
Vucic posted on Instagram that he was saddened by the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and proud of the sincere friendship that Serbia and he have with the new president, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"I am especially grateful to Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the important political advice he gave me, as well as the full openness of our Emirati friends to further development of bilateral relations between Serbia and the UAE," Vucic posted on his "buducnostsrbijeav" account.
Vucic also met with King Hamad of Brahrain.
Numerous world officials, including French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also traveled to the UAE to pay their respects to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away on May 13 at the age of 74. He was the ruler of emirate of Abu Dhabi and the president of the UAE.
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was elected as new president after the death of his half-brother.
