The chairman of the Serbian Assembly Committee on Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun, said today that he believes that the ground has already been prepared for the provisional Pristina institutions to join the Council of Europe, and that there will be no progress in negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina.

Speaking for TV Pink, Drecun stressed that Pristina is not making moves on its own and that the ground is being prepared for it by those Western states that have created the fake state of Kosovo and are trying to keep it alive.

"If they were not ready to join, they would not have submitted the application. There is no doubt that the West has already secured the majority needed for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe. It is an organization that mostly consists of countries that have recognized Kosovo, and it's realistic to expect that they will vote for Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe," Drecun said.

However, he stressed that where there are other countries, the situation is different, so it is very important to work on further "de-recognitions" of Kosovo, because the situation in UNESCO and Interpol is completely different.

"It's obvious that the Western countries that advised Pristina to start with the application for membership in the Council of Europe are still not acting when it comes to Interpol and UNESCO. And between the ultimate goal of joining the UN and Pristina, stands Serbia, which will not recognize Kosovo at any cost - but is ready for a compromise agreement on the status of Kosovo and Metohija - nor will two permanent members of the UN Security Council, Russia and China, and that is a hurdle that Pristina and its mentors cannot skip over," said the chairman of the Serbian Assembly Committee on Kosovo and Metohija.

He recalled that a significant number of countries have already withdrawn their recognition of Kosovo, that Pristina does not have a majority in the UN and that some other countries will do the same, but added that we cannot stop Pristina's entry into the Council of Europe with the policy of securing recognition withdrawals.
