After the session of the Council for National Security, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic stated that he handed over to President Aleksandar Vucic diplomatic notes from four countries that have withdrawn their recognition of Kosovo and Metohija as independent, and added that Serbia will continue to fight.

He told reporters at the Serbian Presidency that the country is in a difficult situation after Pristina's application for membership in the Council of Europe, and that the leadership is under great pressure to accept, as he specified, a violation of the territorial integrity of Serbia and a violation of international law and order, to its own detriment.

Stating that some have disputed the arguments of President Vucic, who assessed that Pristina has violated the Washington Agreement, Selakovic said that the US Government, in its statement on the occasion of the first anniversary of that agreement, said that Washington still considers the agreement to be valid.

"On that occasion, they called on Belgrade and Pristina to respect it," he said.

Selakovic added that by submitting the application for membership in the Council of Europe, Pristina showed that it does not keep its word and that it does not intend to reach a solution through dialogue, but has decided on a unilateral approach for the umpteenth time.

He said that the activities of the services revealed that two big countries are working on providing logistical support to Pristina for obtaining new recognitions and preventing the campaign of withdrawal of recognitions of Kosovo and Metohija.

Selakovic said that he handed over to President Aleksandar Vucic the diplomatic notes from four countries that have withdrawn their recognition, without specifying which countries these are, but noted that the president would talk about that.

"We will continue to fight fiercely and work on withdrawals of recognition," Selakovic said.
