Speaking for RTS this morning, Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that more than 30 percent of the 70,000 Sky phones belong to people from the Balkans, which speaks of the size of Balkan criminal groups, and assessed that their activity is not possible without the support of powerful intelligence services, and that they very often serve to provoke political unrest in a country.

He also said that bomb threat reports saying there were explosive devices in four shopping centers in Belgrade and Nis arrived three days ago from a server in Switzerland, but that this "does not have to mean anything."

"There are always services whom it suits that there are certain criminal groups, which in addition to making a profit for themselves, can very easily serve to provoke political unrest, corrupt government officials, can make a country very bad for life and very unsafe, and that is always used for political purposes," said the interior minister.

Therefore, he said, it is not a coincidence that Serbia is focused on the fight to preserve peace and stability - "The political stability that you preserve in Serbia is the economic and any other stability."

He stressed that 30 organized criminal groups have been broken up in Serbia in the last year, which is why he is proud of all members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Information Agency, the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and all judicial bodies that enable our citizens to live peacefully and safely.

"President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic gathered all security structures and gave us a simple task, which is difficult to implement - Serbia must be a safe country. He is trying to provide us with all possible support and conditions for that to happen," said the minister.

According to him, the arrest of Darko Saric's criminal group is just one in a series of activities, which was carried out in cooperation with Europol and Eurojust, therefore it was an international operation that was carried out on several continents.

The minister pointed out that several other people, suspected of being members of this group, are on the run and that the police are intensively looking for them. Asked whether there is any connection between Saric's group and the (Montenegrin) Kavac criminal clan, the minister said that all criminal groups are connected at some stage of their existence. "Before the arrest of members of the Belivuk-Miljkovic criminal group, the police arrested several major criminals who led criminal groups that were the allies of this clan, which was important in order to reduce their strength," said Minister Vulin.
