Bukovik is magnet for mountaineers and cyclists, but also for mushroom pickers: Expensive truffles grow here

In the eastern part of Serbia, leaning on the Vujan Mountain is Bukovik, a mountain covered in woods whose highest peak, Bukova Glava, also known as Bukova poljana, lies at 894 meters above sea level.

It is visible from the Belgrade-Nis highway, and although it is almost not used at all in terms of tourism, this destination is attractive to cyclists and mountaineers, as well as hunters and mushroom pickers.

Although the mountain is dominated by deciduous forests, after the Second World War, Bukovik was additionally forested with coniferous species of trees.

Deer, wild boar, rabbits have found refuge in the dense forests of Bukovik.

Experienced mushroom pickers unmistakably know where to find them on this mountain, and there are also precious truffles here.

Well marked trails lead hikers and cyclists from two sides to the top - from the village of Crni Kao on the Razanj side and from the village of Mozgovo on the Aleksinac side. From the top of the mountain one can see Lake Bovan, as well as the fertile Aleksinac valley.
