First photos of the new terminal at the Nikola Tesla Belgrade airport: "This will be a regional hub"
During a visit to the new Terminal C, Director of the Nikola Tesla Belgrade airport Francois Berisot announced that the facility will be officially opened tomorrow.
During the visit, Berisot told reporters that he is proud of all those who made efforts to carry out this part of the investment.
According to Berisot, this is just one step, while the journey continues to turn Nikola Tesla into an important regional hub, where passengers will enjoy a new experience.
The director stressed that despite all the challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic, works to realize several major projects are going according to plan, and will be completed according to the previously announced deadlines.
The entire investment program is aimed at encouraging traffic, which brings new value to passengers and partners.
Telegraf Biznis attended the tour of the works, and you can see the photos taken at the airport today.
The Belgrade airport was opened in this location in 1962, and the company says that such a detailed reconstruction has never been done before. Vinci Airport's idea is to make Belgrade a new air hub of Southeast Europe.
The investment worth 730 million euros is the first and therefore the largest concession in the country. A complete transformation of this Serbian airport is planned by the end of 2025. A new inserted taxiway, four taxiways for fast exit of planes from the runway, a new platform for defrosting aircraft in the winter, a parking lot, as well as the first solar plant will be built in Surcin.
Platforms C and B will get a makeover, and a new platform, E, will be built. In the coming period, passengers should forget about parking problems, because a new parking lot will be built in front of the terminal, while a new access road system has been designed.
The central part of the terminal will be further expanded, as well as the C side, and a new gallery will be built at the arrivals terminal. The construction of a solar plant is also planned, which the company Belgrade Airport says is the first of its kind in Serbia.
