Starting tomorrow, Croatia to abolish almost all epidemiological measures: Masks only in health institutions
Starting tomorrow at midnight, almost all epidemiological measures introduced to stop the spread of coronavirus will be abolished in Croatia, and that country is also considering declaring the epidemic over, but the time has not yet come for that, said the Civil Protection Headquarters.
Head of the Civil Protection and Minister of the Interior Davor Bozinovic told a press conference that the consequences of coronavirus no longer have a significant impact on the healthcare system, like they did a few months ago.
He said that decisions have been prepared which will abolish all epidemiological measures, except the obligatory use of masks for some categories of people, while for others wearing masks will be a recommendation.
"Masks will be mandatory in the healthcare system, with employees and persons who come to those institutions, in social welfare institutions that provide accommodation services for the elderly and people with disabilities," said Bozinovic.
The most important change regarding a temporary restriction of border crossing is that there is no longer a ban on entering Croatia, regardless of which country, and for what reason somebody is coming there, but travelers will have to have a Covid certificate, which is not an obligation for those coming from European Union countries.
Minister of Health Villi Beros said that the lifting of the measures should not taken as the pandemic being over, because, he said, it is all around us.
He especially called for caution when it comes to the elderly and immunocompromised people.
