Kremlin: Erosion of world order began with NATO bombing of Belgrade
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press conference today that the erosion of the world order began with the NATO bombing of Belgrade (Serbia).
"The Kremlin believes that the erosion of the world order began with American strikes against Belgrade," he said.
Peskov then said that G20 is important and that Russia will be ready to participate in the summit, but that if they decide to expel Moscow from this group, it will not be fatal for them.
"As for the G20 format, it is important, but on the other hand, in the current conditions, when most members are waging an economic war against us, if they exclude us from the group, nothing fatal will happen to us," said Peskov.
He then added that Russia is in any case still guided by the opinion of other participants in this format.
Peskov then touched on the accusations made by the Ukrainian president about the use of phosphorus bombs during the conflict in Ukraine.
"Russia has never violated international conventions, I recommend that you contact the Ministry of Defense for more details regarding this," he said.
He added that Russia would demand an explanation about the existence of alleged biological laboratories in Ukraine.
"Our experts from the Ministry of Defense continue to work on analyzing the data we have so far about the existence of biological laboratories and the programs that are being developed there. This is very sensitive information for us and for the whole world. Of course, we will also ask for explanations," said Peskov.
The Kremlin spokesman also told reporters that the Russian military would submit proposals to President Vladimir Putin on how to strengthen the defense in response to the strengthening of NATO's eastern flank.
He added that there is no official position on whether Russia will rebuild destroyed Ukrainian cities such as Mariupol.
