Ministers of Agriculture of Serbia and North Macedonia agreed during today's meeting in Belgrade that export of wheat, corn, flour and cooking oil to North Macedonia will continue in the coming period, according to previously agreed quantities, the Ministry of Agriculture has announced.

Ministers Branislav Nedimovic and Ljupco Nikolovski discussed the Open Balkan initiative, whose importance is especially emphasized in the current situation when many markets around the world are closing, the ministry said. It has been confirmed that the main topic of conversation was - export of wheat, corn, flour and cooking oil in the quantities agreed on before the introduction of the export ban.

It is added that export, based on the previously agreed quantities of the mentioned products, will continue "according to the determined dynamic in the following period."

After the meeting, Nikolovski told RTV Macedonia that he had agreed with Nedimovic that "the ban on export of grains, flour and cooking oil from Serbia to Macedonia will be lifted in the next seven to ten days."

"This means that all agreements reached by business partners, members of the chambers of commerce will be realized. The ban will be lifted, and the prime minister of Macedonia will send a letter to the prime minister of Serbia today, with the aim of lifting the ban that has been in force for the last seven days, as agreed at today's meeting. This means that Macedonia will have sufficient quantities of these strategic goods until the next harvest, and that citizens can be reassured of that," Nikolovski said.
