Dijana Djokovic reveals the reason why Novak's children have not been baptized yet
Novak Djokovic's mother Dijana gave an extensive interview to the "While Angels Sleep" ("Dok Andjeli Spavaju") talk show and among other things, she revealed that Novak's children Stefan and Tara have not been baptized yet, and spoke about why that is the case.
It is known how pious the whole Djokovic family is and how much the parents care about that. Thus, Novak's mother explained that Novak and his wife Jelena want to wait for their children to grow up a little more, before taking this step in their spiritual development.
"I'm very proud of him. Everyone would put success above spiritual peace. Novak has this great sense of gratitude. He is grateful for everything he has accomplished. He sticks to his principles and beliefs, that's what makes a man, what makes him," Dijana said, and added:
"Novak carries a consecrated cross he received in the Hilandar monastery, which gives him strength. He spent three days there, it was a very important experience for him. He is truly a spiritual being, he was baptized when he was five years old and he took that act seriously. There is something about him. I keep asking him when he will baptize his children, and he tells me 'when they are able to understand the act of baptism'. He wants Tara and Stefan to be aware that they have been baptized," said Dijana.
