Serbian President Vucic: "Situation is not trivial. Request of so-called Kosovo to join NATO is not new idea"
The request of so-called Kosovo to join into NATO is not a new idea, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said during the opening of a Wacker Neuson factory in the town of Kragujevac.
"I first heard about it a couple of months ago, it's not the idea of Albanians from Kosovo, it's the idea of politicians from the United States," he said.
They want to force the four EU countries that are members of NATO to recognize Kosovo.
"The situation is not trivial for us, but whoever recognizes Kosovo, Serbia will abide by international law, we will respect territorial integrity, and that's Serbia," he said.
"Regardless of all pressure and blackmail, we will preserve our territorial integrity," the president of Serbia stressed.
Asked if Serbia will bear the consequences for not imposing sanctions against Russia, as well as to comment on Swedish politician Carl Bildt's tweet saying that Serbia "can say goodbye to the EU," the president of Serbia said this was a case of those who are stronger taking it out on those who are weaker.
