Ukrainian woman Tanya, with baby in arms, sets off for Germany: "It's very bad, we're tired, scared!"
At the Barabas border crossing between Hungary and Ukraine the situation is somewhat better when it comes to the influx of refugees. However, here, too, people wait for several hours to enter Hungary. It was here that a Telegraf crew came across a young mother, Ukrainian Tanya from Lukachevo.
"Now that we have crossed the border, we are fine. We waited a few hours to cross. The situation is very bad, there are a lot of people from other parts of Ukraine in our small town. We are all scared, because we don't know how things will be in the future, what we need to work and find accommodation," said Tanya, visibly tired, holding a baby in her arms.
She decided to go to Germany, although uncertainty is all that lies ahead.
"We are going to Germany and we will organize voluntary campaigns to help Ukraine. I can't sleep at night, I read the news about the situation... Imagine what it's like to be in a war at this time, how to take care of children and how to help people... It's very bad. We're tired, but we are trying to do our best," said the young Ukrainian.
There are also many children at the Barabas border crossing. Everyone says that they are tired and that they are in Ukraine with their thoughts. Most are met by friends and relatives. From the crossing they go straight into cars.
Unfortunately, some who entered the country have been left alone.
Catholic humanitarian organization Caritas has organized collective accommodation in Barabas.
There is plenty of food, but it is mostly dry and canned. People sit, think and talk quietly while children play. The lined up metal beds are reminiscent of the most difficult imagery that we ourselves have had the opportunity to see in our country.
