Dacic: Serbia will not take part in fratricidal war
Serbia will not do anything that would damage its relations with Russia and China because that in the interest of the state and the people - says Ivica Dacic
The leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, says that Serbia, when it comes to the crisis over Ukraine, will not participate in a fratricidal war and will protect its own interests.
"Our policy is clear. We want peace to be preserved, that's not easy, see how two fraternal peoples, like Russians and Ukrainians, are easily set against each other in the interest of third parties," said Dacic.
He stressed that Serbia will not do anything that would damage its relations with Russia and China, because that's is in the interest of the state and the people.
"It's certain that no pressure from the outside will force us to do that," said Dacic, adding that he did not notice anyone shedding a lot tears when aggression was carried out against Yugoslavia, i.e. over Kosovo as part of Serbia.
Dacic also wondered why someone would now ask Serbia to take a stance and take sides.
"As a nation, we have always had the courage to say 'no'. Thanks (Ottoman) Turks for teaching us to say, 'nope'," concluded Dacic.
