A proper horror scene was what awaited police officers in the village of Glogovac near Jagodina, when they discovered the body of Dragan D., 69, lying on a sofa inside the family home. The body of his son Nenad 42, was found in the yard.

According to unofficial information, the father passed away 15 days before his son, while a similar tragedy befell the family a few years earlier.

On March 28, 2018, acting on reports of neighbors who complained about stench that was spreading from the family's house, the body of Dragan's mother Milka, 82, was discovered. The neighbors claim that the body of Dragan's father was also kept the house for several days after his death.

It has been determined that Dragan kept his mother's body in the house for two months saying he had no money to organize a funeral.

But as a neighbor has told Telegraf.rs, this family didn't appear to be experiencing financial hardship.

"As far as I know, they had a car, a tractor with a trailer, land. They used to farm the land, especially while Dragan's mother was alive," she said.

However, as the neighbor claims, it was no secret in the village that the family members were getting their lives ruined with a dangerous vice.

"It was known that they were 'clinking glasses'. They drank a lot, I think that ruined them. That was known all over the village, that's why they looked neglected. There are even stories that Dragan's mother was kept dead in the house for a long time, as well as his father. The locals started reporting it only when the stench started to spread. You know how it is in a village, everyone cares about their own business, no one inquired much there. I don't even think they were in touch with their relatives. I don't think they have ever seen a doctor either," the neighbor claims, and adds:

"I feel sorry for the young man. His mother works abroad, she invited him to go to work for her, but he didn't want to."

The Social Welfare Center in Jagodina confirmed for us that the family did not use their services.

"All the persons you mention in your request (for information) have never been on the records of the City Center for Social Welfare in Jagodina. They never filed a request with our institution for any form of social protection. We have sent the same information to the Ministry of the Interior," the Center told Telegraf.rs.

Unofficially, no traces of violence have been detected on the bodies of Dragan and Nenad D., and it is believed that both died of natural causes.
