Vaccination against coronavirus in Serbia has almost stopped, and although experts still stress its importance in the fight against Covid, vaccination points are getting closed. As we have learned, this is done so as not to waste the staff's time, given that immunization is at a very low level.

Vaccination points began shutting down on February 1, as was the case in Novi Sad. On that day, the point in Vrsacka Street was closed, the Healthcare Center Novi Sad announced at the time, when it was stressed that vaccination points in a facility of the Healthcare Center in Novo Naselje and in TC Promenada remained available to Novi Sad residents.

In Stara Pazova, for example, since the weekend vaccination is carried out exclusively by the specialist services of the Healthcare Center, while the points at the Pazova swimming pools and in Stari Banovci is shutting down.

"The Healthcare Center informs citizens that starting on Monday, February 21, vaccination against Covid 19 will be taking place EXCLUSIVELY on Monday at the specialist services of the Healthcare Center in Stara Pazova, every working day from 7 am to 2 pm," rtvstarapazova.rs has reported.

It is added that the vaccination point at the Pazova pools, as well in Stari Banovci, where the vaccination was also performed, will no longer be open.

Director of the Institute of Public Health in Novi Pazar Dr. Sefadil Spahic told Telegraf.rs that they will most likely close one point.

"Vaccination is sporadic. We have administered 15 first doses in the last few days, the same with the third, and the second is going according to plan. And we are considering closing one point. Four doctors are engaged on two points. Those general practitioners should go back to working as elected doctors, rather than wait all day to give 15 vaccines," said Dr. Sefadil Spahic.

In the second half of January, three vaccination points in Belgrade have also shut down - in the shopping centers IKEA, Stadion and Rajiceva.

Vaccination against Covid 19 started in Serbia on December 24, 2020. Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic was the first to receive it.

Serbians have five vaccines at their disposal - in addition to that made by Pfizer, there is also the Chinese Sinopharm, the Russian Sputnik, Moderna, but also the Serbian-Russian Sputnik which is produces by our Torlak Institute.
