Last night President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic was on TV Pink where he spoke live from Monaco about current topics. Earlier in the day he also spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron, and then about the details of that conversation.

"Today, the conversation with President Macron was important, I expect talks with other leaders in the coming days. The question remains of whether the crisis can spread to other parts of Europe. Tonight I am speaking as the president of the Republic, of course I am worried, our position is not easy, everything I talked to President Macron about brings our country to a position of many challenges. After the decision of President Putin, political pressure on Serbia will be much greater," said Vucic.

Serbia is on the European path, and 85 percent of the nation is always on Russia's side.

"As president, I have an obligation to participate in ensuring peace and security for citizens. That is why our restraint will be an essential contribution to preserving peace. It is important for us that in that sense, our commitment to peace must be strong and firm. Today, after the Session (of Serbia's Council for National Security), I issued an order to the Army, as the supreme commander, to be prepared in the best possible way at all times. We continue to buy what is best for the country's defense. Today, you see in that peace is no longer something that is taken for granted in the world," says Vucic.

As for the economy, the whole world will have problems, the president stressed. Now, for sure, sanctions are coming, around the gas pipeline...

"The prices of grain, wheat, corn will start to rise .. Although I am worried, people should know that we will always have enough food. Tonight Iwill have a special conversation with (Finance Minister) Sinisa Mali to try to buy as much oil as possible.

We are pumping as much gas as we can into Banatski Dvor, we also have sufficient quantities of oil, but we will have to provide more. Things could calm down for ten days, but you can see when something is going in the wrong direction and there is hardly a way back," Vucic warned.

"In the political and security sense, I am worried about pressure that will follow from different sides," he stressed and added, "When they can't respond to someone stronger than us, then it will be, 'let's prove ourselves over someone weaker'."

"Serbia will get through this crisis. It will not be easy, but it will be easier than many others. We have taken all the measures, we have medical supplies, medical devices, the livestock fund in our reserves is very good," he stated.

As Vucic announced, the Belgrade-Novi Sad high speed train will start operating on March 15.

"Our idea is to make the price of tickets as low as possible, 300, 400 dinars for the return trip, and for people to get used to using trains. We also continued our analysis around the kindergartens, because a good part of the children do not go to kindergarten, especially in the poorer parts of Serbia. That would be the biggest contribution to the population policy. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with Ana (Brnabic) and Sinisa. If we succeed, it would be great news for the people in Serbia," said Vucic.
